On the Field of Battle is committed to providing your family with quality educational resources that will inspire your children to learn about the past. When we were growing up, we enjoyed learning about history in an experiential way and we think your family will too. History is so much more than a boring list of names and dates. It is an exciting story full of real people and interesting events. Our educational products will show you that rich texture and make history come to life for your family!

The SOLDIERING THROUGH HISTORY DVD and Study Guide sets are designed for a family with a range of ages and learning styles. Each component of the educational experience has aspects that will be appropriate for younger and older children alike. Active children and visual learners will be able to enjoy and learn while doing a variety of educational activities suited to their learning styles. Older children will benefit from the library reading suggestions and writing topics while younger children will enjoy the simple review questions and coloring pages.

Our DVDs use "living history" techniques to teach your family about what it was like to be a soldier from the past. The DVD also provides "how to" tips on historical reenacting, so that your family can go out into the backyard and do some reenacting on your own. Our study guides are designed to build on the DVD and bring in historical context and create a full-orbed educational experience. Included in each study guide are historical overviews, time lines, review questions, library reading suggestions, film suggestions, coloring pages, writing ideas, and much more!

At On the Field of Battle you will also find mini-adventures and additional resources related to historical reenacting and living history.
